I love to see the Temple.......

One of the items on my list has been to attend the temple every month. I am so grateful for friends that have kept me on task and invite me to go with them.  Here are a few pics from the last trip (thanks Jill and Britni)

Idaho Falls Temple

This is for you Britni! Love finding these pics on my camera.

Hmmm......

Blown Away....by the sound!

I can't believe this concert has already came and went. Whitney and I were at work several months ago when we heard that Carrie Underwood was coming to Utah, we called my Mom and tickets were booked within minutes. I have heard amazing things about her concerts but I was seriously blown away by how amazing she was live.  Whitney and I finished up work on October 10th and headed home to pick up my Mom and head on our way.

On our way!

We made a quick stop at Redrock Brewery (my favorite restaurant) and then headed out to the Maverick Center for our concert.

Maverick Center

We were about 20 rows back on the floor and we were excited for it to start.

So Excited (Mom, Me, Whitney)

Hunter Hayes opened for the Carrie and honestly he surprised me. He is a very talented singer and great entertainer.

Hunter Hayes (Sorry he looks a little crazy here)

I loved to watch my Mom, I think the last concert I went to with her was Garth Brooks at the Holt Arena back in the day.  I think at first she was blown away by how loud it was but she had a great time. It took awhile for Carrie to come on stage but it was well worth the wait, she rocked it!

There were only a couple of songs I didn't know and between her costume change, floating stage, and powerful voice it was well worth the loss of sleep for the night.

The floating stage, her entire band was on here!

The concert ended and we headed to our car and braced ourself for the 3 hour drive home. What an amazing night, have I mentioned that I love concerts? Only 4 more to go....

Hallelujah! Concert Hangover in the Making!

Britni called me up to invite me to Go Radio and Safety Suit in Salt Lake. We got off work early and headed out on September 25th (Tuesday night) to The Complex. After a quick stop at a Subway we pulled right up to the venue and scored front row parking. We waited in line for a little while then headed inside. So excited to be at the concert!

We snatched a great location on the elevated platform in back and waited for the opening band. The Better Life Band opened and although they weren't my favorite I was excited for the rest of the show.

Britni was pumped for Go Radio (she has seen them several times.) As soon as the show started we headed up to the front. They were amazing! We made sure to head out to the merchandise table for Britni to pick up something for them to sign afterwards. Safety Suit was next and I was excited.

They even sang one of my favorite songs - Hallelujah!

At one point during the show he started to make his way down the stairs toward us. Britni and I both had the thought run through our heads - If he only comes by one of us this won't end pretty. :) We both got a big sweaty hug while he sung his heart out. What a great night and a great concert. Only 5 more to go.

5...4..3..2..Shotgun!

For the past several years the Behrend girls have been getting together to run/walk in the St Luke's Women's Fitness Celebration and this year wasn't any different. One of my favorite memories of this walk is when my Grandma Behrend came with us, I loved spending that time with her and miss her more every year. My Mom decided to registered a team (Sarah, Kam, Whitney, Myself and Mom) this year and we decided to make it a girls weekend in Boise. I was already in Boise because of the BSU game so Mom, Kam and Sarah met me for lunch and then we headed downtown to pick up our race packets and shirts. (A few years back Cody and I had the privilege of running into Jared - The Subway Guy at this same event, unfortunately there wasn't anyone famous this year.)  After browsing through the different vendor's booths we gathered our stuff and went to pick Whitney up from work.  From here we headed shopping and then we called it a night. The next morning we woke up bright and early and headed to the starting line.

The Girls. (Kam, Sarah, Mom, Me, Whitney)

There were people everywhere, the number never ceases to amaze me.

The groups of people!

Photo-bombing my Mom's group shot.

We waited for them to send off the first few waives and then it was our turn 5..4..3..2..the shotgun sounds and I am hot out of the gate - well at least as soon as I can get past the crowds.  My adrenaline is rushing and I am running fast.  It doesn't take me long to realize that I won't be able to keep up with this speed if I want to finish the full 5K so I slow down a little and try to keep a solid pace.  (Harder then it seems.) Kam took the lead and finished strong, I was so excited to see the finish line and I pushed hard to run to the end.

Kam, towards the back running strong!

Go Kam!

We waited a short time for everyone to join us then we gathered at Ann Morrison park grabbed some snacks and rested for a bit.  We then headed back to the hotel to shower and clean up then we headed to one of my favorite restaurants...Thai Paradise (Best thai food I have had) My Mom was against this but finally promised to give it a try.  She wasn't the biggest fan but I thank her for being a good sport.

Pad Thai from my favorite Thai Restaurant
We then took in a little more shopping and caught a movie then I crashed.  The next morning Whitney and I got up at bright and early (4:30 am) and we headed back so I could catch some early morning meetings. What a fun filled couple of days with some of my favorite people. I look forward to next year and hope that I can run in the competitive waive, watch out girls I am running faster everyday!

Here are a few pics from the day:

Whitney, so excited to run!

This one wasn't exactly on my list but it does relate to getting healthy! Now I just have to keep going!

Go! Orange! Go! big! Blue! Fight! Fight! B-S-U!

What a way to accomplish this item:

12. Attend BSU game

My boss saw this on my list and suggested I look into the BSU vs BYU game on Thursday, September 20th. I had thought of this a few times but it was now Wednesday and I had no plans on leaving.  After a few minutes he told me to plan on leaving early Thursday and he would find me some tickets.  I went home that night not sure if I would actually be leaving.  I was also worried because I hadn't planned on leaving early (he quickly reminded me that I shouldn't argue with the boss). I had already scheduled Friday off so I could head to Boise with my Mom, Kam, Sarah and Whitney to run in the Boise Women's Fitness Celebration. It was too perfect but I still had my doubts.  This was a popular game, there was no way he could find tickets....right? I headed to work Thursday morning semi packed (just in case) and at about 9:30 I get a call from Corey telling me to plan on leaving at 2 because he had found some tickets. We scheduled a pick up and planned on meeting someone a the game. (I convinced Whitney to join me). Then we realized we didn't have a place to stay that night.  We checked every hotel we were aware of and they were all booked.  After re-checking a hotel they had 1 room available online but when we called them they informed us that it was booked.  I decided to take a chance and book the room online.  We grabbed our bags and headed out of town.

On our way we decided to call the hotel to verify if we had a room or not...they said I was on the list..phew! We drove straight to the game and after finding a parking space we rode a bus to meet up with Jason Royce to grab our tickets then we headed in to the game.

We were on the North End Zone and I couldn't have been happier.

I have been to BSU games before and knew that it would be fun regardless of the outcome however I wanted them to beat BYU so bad. It wasn't the best game I have ever been to (On both sides) however I was still screaming and enjoying every second. After a long battle BSU came out on top (7-6). After the game we starting the long walk back to our car, then we headed to the hotel. After checking in we realized we were both hungry so we decided to order a pizza.  After placing the order we waited, waited, waited and then waited some more. A couple hours later the pizza finally showed up (1:30 AM) I was exhausted. We tried to eat some pizza but we just wanted to sleep. It didn't take long for us to crash. All in all a successful night followed by a morning with no voice.

Here are a few pics from that night:

Taken by some BYU fans, thanks for being great sports! :)
Huge shout-out and big thanks to Corey for encouraging me to attack my goals head on! Let's cross one more off the list...
